Investigative website Snoop revealed that AEP filed a criminal complaint for a contract between AUR and Realitatea Plus. Where the investigation was popularized, Anca Alexandrescu shared on Facebook another article by Snoop, the one in which the site wrote about how AEP did not return part of the money spent in the campaign by Nicușor Dan.
On May 12, 2025, Realitatea Plus broadcast several shows, including “Culisele Statului Paralel” produced by Anca Alexandrescu, for which the television received 1 million euros from the AUR, as presidential election advertising. 1 million euros in one day. Of this million, 450,000 cost George Simion a show produced by Anca Alexandrescu.
For two more days, AUR gave another 500,000 euros. George Simion's party requested the refund of the amount from the budget, but AEP refused and sent a complaint to the Prosecutor's Office, claims the Snoop investigative website. The complaint alleges that AUR paid for advertising it did not receive and then solicited public money.
Of the total of 5 million euros given by Simion to Realitatea, 3.5 million were spent illegally, AEP claims. In response, quoted by Snoop, George Simion says he will appeal AEP's default decision. The politician claims that AUR is the target of the public authorities.
“A private television has the right to set whatever rates it wants!”
After the revelation about his show paid for with 450,000 euros appeared in the public space, Anca Alexandrescu entered the Facebook post about the Snoop investigation. The candidate for Bucharest City Hall shared another Snoop investigation, the one regarding the money spent by Nicușor Dan. She said: “A private television has the right to set whatever tariffs it wants! That's how it is in that democracy that you don't want anymore! In your dictatorship everything is allowed for you, we don't have it!”.
Snoop is the site that also discovered the 2 million euros paid, from public money, by the PNL for the billboard promotion of Nicolae Ciucă's book, the president of the PNL and presidential candidate.
The same investigative site wrote about the record sums received by PSD and the fact that AEP did not reimburse part of the money to President Nicușor Dan, because some of the donors were not identified.
