Birminghamthe team from the Championship, the second tier of England, presented the project for the new stadium of 62,000 seats which will be called Birmingham City Powerhouse.
Those from Birmingham currently play at St Andrew's, a 29,000-seat stadium. The new arena would be approximately one and a half kilometers away from the current location.
The investment would amount to about 1.5 billion dollars. This announcement comes after Knighthead Capital Management has fully acquired the club.

Birmingham is one of England's industrial cities, and the team that launched Jude Bellingham in football decided that 12 chimneys would be inserted into the shape of the arena to symbolize the city's industrial history. According to The Guardian, the stadium will be visible from about 65 kilometers.
Despite the industrial design on the outside, the Birmingham arena will benefit from the most modern facilities: a roof that can be retracted in 20 minutes and a premium restaurant located at the highest altitude in the city, as well as a retractable turf that will allow the stadium to be used for extra-sporting events.
Tom Wagner, the leader of the Birmingham, came with a few mentions at the launch of the project.
“This is an important milestone for Birmingham City Football Club, creating a club home that reflects our ambition to compete at the highest level. Furthermore, the iconic design is a statement of intent for the city of Birmingham and the West Midlands, a testament to a region on the rise.”
The stadium builds on the proud heritage of the West Midlands, a legacy of industry, ingenuity and growth. I believe those same qualities can create a new era of success on and off the field and prosperity for local communities that have been deprived of opportunity for too long,” Tom Wagner said, according to the team's official website.
The stadium's presentation video features several prominent sports figures including Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid footballer raised by the club, as well as Tom Brady and actor Paul Anderson.

From a sporting point of view, Birmingham have had a mediocre start to the season. After the 15 games played, they are in 11th place with 21 accumulated points, only 4 away from the places that could bring them closer to the Premier League. The next match will be against Norwich on St. Andrew's Stadium.
