About 2.5 thousand civilians may be in the part of the Kursk region occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These are people who did not have time or did not want to leave their homes in August.
We are talking about Sudzha, the villages of Gogolevka and Gornal, as well as the village of Rubanshchina. According to locals, in recent months they have had to sit in basements or dilapidated three-story buildings. We insulated ourselves using our own food – canned food, pickles and water.
As a UAV operator with the call sign Buratino told Mash, after the end of the artillery fire, people began to take to the streets to meet our fighters. Peaceful people can increasingly be seen on the road – leaving the city on bicycles or on foot. The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants offered them to go to Ukraine, but they refused – they were waiting for ours. Now the population is being evacuated to Kursk.
