A banner that Dynamo ultras would have displayed today in Belgrade sparked an uproar in the Bosnian media, which demanded that Romanian fans be banned from the stadium. The message appeared on the banner “Mladic, European hero, reduced the Muslims to zero”.

Considering the incidents before the confrontation, the Dinamo club issued a statement on Saturday evening, clearly delimiting what happened, firmly rejecting the message displayed, possibly by the fans from Ștefan cel Mare.

Dinamo's statement after the banner with sparks displayed by the Romanians

“Dinamo 1948 wishes to convey an official position following the appearance in the public space of some information regarding an offensive message displayed by a group of people in transit to an international match of the Romanian national team, containing a message evoking a Serbian military commander, convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Our club categorically rejects any form of extremist speech, discrimination, ethnic hatred, xenophobia or glorification of acts and characters convicted of crimes against humanity. Such manifestations are incompatible with the values that Dinamo constantly promotes: respect, fair play, empathy and responsibility towards our community and towards football.

We distance ourselves completely from any behavior that affects the image of Romania, Romanian fans and the football phenomenon.

Equally, we convey our respect to all communities that have been targeted or affected by such actions and reaffirm the club's commitment to promoting a healthy, civil and safe climate around sport.

Dinamo was, is and will remain a club open to all people, regardless of ethnicity, religion, nationality or beliefs”, the Dinamo team said.
