Trump reiterated that he would like to pursue denuclearization. He also talked about this a week ago. He then emphasized that denuclearization would be a great thing and added that he had talked about it with the leaders of China and Russia.

On October 30, just before his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Trump announced that he had ordered the Pentagon to resume nuclear weapons tests. He claimed that Russia and China were secretly conducting such underground tests and the US would do the same.

However, Energy Minister Chris Wright, who is responsible for nuclear weapons, announced that American plans do not include weapons tests involving nuclear explosions.
