The president of Farul Constanța, Gică Popescu, spoke about the latest move from the SuperLiga: the departure of Mirel Rădoi from the technical bench of the University of Craiova.

“I really liked Craiova. I didn't understand Mirel Rădoi's departure. It had a very good career, it was the team that played the best. To lose the coach in the middle of the championship is not very pleasant. But it is a team that is our opponent, naturally we want them to play as badly as possible and we as well as possible,” said Gică Popescu, after the General Assembly of the LPF on Thursday, according to iamsport.ro.

Former international Mirel Rădoi resigned on Monday from the position of head coach of the Universitatea Craiova team. The technician's departure comes after the team won its first Conference League victory, 1-0 against Rapid Vienna away, but lost on Sunday, in Bănie, against UTA Arad (1-2), in the Superleague.

Radoi did not give a reason for his resignation. Instead, he sent a cryptic message, in which he stated that “the film “Science Champion” must continue, even if the secondary character “died”.

Gică Popescu was satisfied with the progress made by the team he represents. Farul Constanța achieved seven wins, four draws and five defeats. In the previous SuperLiga season, Farul missed the play-off qualification.

“We are on the play-off spot. As long as we are in the chart, I can only appreciate that it is a very good evolution”, Gică Popescu also said.
