On November 12, people's deputy from Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote on Facebook about the personal relationships of officials. He refers to the court's data on the selection of a preventive measure for those involved in the corruption case at NNEGC Energoatom.
“According to the visual observation protocol, Grinchuk spent the night with Galushchenko from July 23 to 24. On July 28 again, she opened the gate with her key. She also spent the night from August 11 to 13,” the people’s deputy wrote.
Journalists asked Grinchuk how she could comment on this information.
“I haven’t heard anything about it,” she replied and hung up.
Context
On November 10, NABU announced Operation Midas to expose a “high-level criminal organization” involved in extortion at Energoatom. According to the investigation, the state-owned company's contractors were offered to pay a kickback of 10% to 15% for goods and services, threatening to block payments from the budget or break off cooperation.
Investigative actions took place regarding Galushchenko (former head of the Ministry of Energy). In total, four ministers from different parts of the Ukrainian government appear in the Energoatom case, the head of the NABU detective department, Alexander Abakumov, told Ukrainskaya Pravda.
Zheleznyak stated that Grinchuk was involved in this story. She said she “doesn’t understand the claims.” However, after a video message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on November 12, in which he said that, in his opinion, Galushchenko and Grinchuk “cannot remain in their positions,” the energy minister wrote a letter of resignation. It was also written by Galushchenko. The Rada is expected to consider them on November 18.
On November 11, law enforcement officers reported a number of suspicions in the Energoatom case. Along it pass co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Timur Mindich and businessman Alexander Tsukerman, who have already left Ukraine, ex-adviser to the Minister of Energy Igor Mironyuk, executive director for security at Energoatom Dmitry Basov, Igor Fursenko, Lesya Ustimenko and Lyudmila Zorina. NABU also reported suspicion of illicit enrichment former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Chernyshov.
On November 13, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky approved National Security and Defense Council sanctions against Mindich and Zuckerman.
