A helicopter 'fell from the sky' in the UK. The pilot escaped unhurt after a forced landing
Emergency services quickly intervened after a helicopter “fell from the sky” while flying over the city of Bolton in the U.K. The incident took place in the Lostock area of Greater Manchester, where the pilot had to make an emergency landing in a field.

Eyewitnesses reported on social media that the aircraft “was spinning” before “it was falling from the sky”.
Emergency services were first alerted at 1.40pm. Shortly after, an air ambulance was spotted on the scene and firefighters intervened to secure the area. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At 1.40pm on Thursday (November 13), four fire engines from Bolton Central, Eccles and Atherton fire stations, along with the technical response unit from Leigh, were called to reports of a helicopter making an emergency landing in a field on Kilworth Drive, Lostock. Firefighters secured the aircraft and the surrounding area with partners and remained on scene for approximately 45 minutes“.
The pilot, a man in his 60s, was able to eject safely and was uninjured.

Police statement and investigation
Police issued a statement after the emergency landing: “At around 1.25pm on Thursday 13 November 2025 we were called to a gyrocopter crash on Kilworth Drive, Lostock, Bolton. Officers attended the scene and found the pilot – a man in his 60s. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.”
The incident is believed to have been a forced landing, not an actual accident. The investigation is ongoing, being coordinated by investigators specializing in air accidents.
A gyrocopter, also called an autogiro or gyroplane, is a type of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor, and video footage released showed the aircraft spinning in mid-air and apparently losing control.
