The Russian forces continued their attacks on Ukrainian civilian areas on Friday, hitting a residential neighborhood of Kharkov with new types of ballistic missiles equipped with dispersion ammunition, in the early hours of the morning, writes Politico.

At least one of the rockets used in the attack was a 9M727, a supersonic missile comparable to the American Rocket Tomahawk, said Serhii Bolivanov, the head of the Local Police Department.

This type of rocket is equipped with “stealth” technology, which allows it to escape radar detection.

The attack took place on Good Friday, the day when many Orthodox Ukrainians are preparing for Easter.

A 79-year-old man was killed in his apartment, more than 100 people were injured and more than 500 people lost their homes, said the police chief, in the latest balance sheet.

“They have explosion injuries, shrapnel cuts and are in shock. There are seven children among the injured,” Bolivanov said.

Among the people injured in the attack are four girls, aged 3, 4, 14 and 16, as well as a 17 -year -old boy.

The attack made on Friday morning in Kharkov was the third consecutive in which Russia uses ballistic missiles loaded with dispersion (“cluster”) against civil areas, after, at the end of the week, the attack from Sumî, made on the Sunday of Flowers, killed 35 people, Volodimir Zelenski) after which 20 people died.

In fact, Zelenski warned that Russia is preparing several attacks on the weekend in which Easter is celebrated and that the attacks will target the country's energy infrastructure.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the Kharkov attack targeted places where drones were launched by Ukrainian forces.

“This is the way Russia started this big Friday-with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Drone Shahed-mutilating our people and cities,” said the Ukrainian president, in a post on the social network X.

The blows damaged apartment buildings, an educational institution and an enterprise, according to Ukrainian emergency services.

The Kharkov attack took place around 5:10 in the morning and targeted the Osnovianski neighborhood, a densely populated area. A Russian ballistic missile with dispersion ammunition hit a tall building, killing a person on the spot and hurting more than 60, according to the initial balance sheet.

Ukrainska Pravda then quoted prosecutors who claimed that the Russians hit Harkov with 3 iskander missiles, whose detonation took place in the air to cause as much damage in the city.

Subsequently, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sîbiga, said that Russia launched four missiles to Kharkov, three of them being ballistic missiles and “cluster” focus.

“Russia is a car of terror. It will only stop if we face it with the real force,” added Andrii Sîbiga, one day after meeting the US, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, in Paris, according to News.ro.

Ukrainian cities are targeted almost daily by Russian attacks, despite the recent attempts of the United States to bring the belligerent parts to discuss the over three years of struggles.
