Valentin Robu23 years old, the striker from Metalul Buzău and the goalscorer of the 2nd League, with ten successes, tied with Cristian Măgerușan, from ASA Târgu Mureș, returns to the transfer list of those from Dinamo for the winter mercato period. The “Dogs” also wanted the player in the past, but the considered high financial claims of the Buzoians prevented the move, according to the president Andrei Nicolescu.
In January, Valentin Robu enters the last six months of his contract, and the team from the second echelon play-off could be less demanding in negotiations this time. Dinamo has not yet launched any formal offer for the player, but his name is circulating among promising Romanian players who could be regimented in the “pack” during the competitive break, Zeljko Kopic's “OK” having been given since last winter.
Robu is back on Dinamo's radar
Last season, Robu, a player trained by Dacia Unirea Brăila, scored ten goals, the same milestone already reached in the current season, in only 13 stages. He plays top, is 1.85 meters tall and will turn 23 on November 23. According to the specialized portal transfermarkt, it is quoted at 250,000 euros.
According to GSP information, Dinamo could pay the fixed amount it offered last winter, if no other offer comes for Robu, also on the radar of other Superliga teams!
Controversy around Robu, between Andrei Nicolescu and Metalul Buzău
“We wanted to take a player in the winter from Metalul Buzău. He was 21 years old, Vali Robu. I was paying around 100,000 euros for it, plus some interest. I had a double counteroffer. It was about a player who had not performed in Romania.
I think that prohibitive price kept him there. If I went abroad with 200,000 euros, I would definitely find a player. It's about the general perception in Romania”, said Andrei Nicolescu in the summer.
Later, those from Metalul Buzău, a club now in 6th place in the 2nd League, issued a statement, contradicting the “boss” from Ștefan cel Mare.
In the context of the statements that appeared recently in the public space, we consider it necessary to specify the real facts regarding the offer received from the Dinamo Bucharest club for the transfer of our player, Valentin Robu.
Contrary to the information circulated, there was no such offer from the Dinamo club. The official offer sent to Metalul Buzău was almost 5 times lower, an amount that includes the training, promotion, solidarity grids, etc., according to the regulations in force. This amount would have been increased, in total, to the value communicated by the Dinamo club official, through bonuses strictly conditioned by the player's performance at the new club (appearances in official matches, starts and goals scored).
We believe that the training and fitness of a player, once transferred, is the sole responsibility of the buying club, not the transferor. It is not normal for a club to only pay if the footballer, already in another training environment, meets certain personal performance targets.
Our proposal, transmitted transparently to Dinamo, was that the amount, which the people from Dinamo now say they would have been willing to pay, to be paid in 3 installments, plus a percentage of any future transfer, but not less than a certain amount of money.
Metalul Buzău remains a club open to negotiations and dialogue, but only on fair and transparent bases. We are realistic about performance sport and will always defend both the interests of our club and the work that goes into their training.
And in order to fully demonstrate the correctness of the situation, we offer the official who made these expressly covered statements of our club to publicly present the contract sent by Metalul, with only one condition: to present at the same time the Transfer Agreement with the real offer of the Dinamo club. It is easy to throw out the first accusations without believing in them, but we believe that the truth must be based on documents, not interpretations.
