In the press service of Rospotrebnadzor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, experts told what to do if you were injured due to ice.
The owner of the premises is responsible for the improvement of the porch and steps. If the building is leased, then the responsibility to maintain order passes to the tenant, who uses the entrance for visitors through this porch.
“If someone is injured as a result of a fall, the owner or tenant of the premises will have to pay the victim not only for treatment and moral damages, but also to compensate for lost earnings. What to do if you are injured due to ice? It is necessary to identify the culprit of the harm, and this is the organization whose responsibilities include ensuring the cleaning of the area where the injury occurred,” the department explained.
If an injury occurs in the local area, then the management company is responsible if the building owner or tenant is on the steps of a store or institution, and the municipality is responsible if the incident occurred on the street, bus stop or other public places.
Once the culprit has been identified, the victim can file a claim against him, putting forward a demand for compensation for harm. However, the victim must independently ensure the collection of evidence that confirms the circumstances of the incident, for example, photos and videos, explanations of witnesses.
