Thousands of tourists, including Russians, stranded in Bali due to volcanic eruption
The Levotobi Laki-Laki volcano, 1,584 meters high, threw an ash cloud to a height of 9 kilometers. On the island of Flores, where the volcano is located, 10 people died.
People living near the crater were evacuated. The ash cloud disrupted tourists who were scheduled to fly in or out of Bali.
Airlines have either canceled or delayed flights to Denpasar International Airport. Tourists have had to spend the night at the airport for the second day already.
The cost of tickets for upcoming flights has increased significantly due to demand – the price of some reaches almost a million rubles.
