The second series of military-patriotic forums “Let’s Preserve Traditions! This year” ended in Krasnoyarsk. Let's defend our homeland!” The events took place in all seven districts of the city. The final point was a citywide forum at the May 1st Palace of Culture. 6,000 people became guests and participants in the events.

On the square in front of the Palace of Culture, an exhibition of military equipment awaited the townspeople. There were thematic locations. Forum participants were shown uniforms, tools and authentic items from the Second World War of the Victory Memorial Museum. Krasnoyarsk residents could try their hand at assembling and disassembling a machine gun, learn how to weave camouflage nets, and watch dog handlers perform with dogs.

“Today I came to the forum with my classmates, we have already managed to see several locations. Everything is very interesting, I especially liked the site where you can see artifacts from the Great Patriotic War. It’s great that we host such patriotic events; you can learn a lot about the history of your country,” Maria Ilyushina, a student at school No. 27, shared her impressions.

The events are dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Their goal is to educate patriotism, as well as promote Russian traditional values. It is no coincidence that among the forum participants there are young patriots. Representatives of law enforcement agencies also took part in the forum.

“History shows that at all times, in difficult times, the people of our multinational state stood shoulder to shoulder in defense of the Motherland. And today, holding this forum, we are once again talking about the need for unity and unity in difficult moments for the country. Participants and veterans of the Northern Military District, their parents, representatives of public and volunteer organizations, all caring residents of our city – we are all moving towards victory,” said Sergei Kovalev, head of the mobilization department of the Krasnoyarsk administration.

The honorary guests of the forum were veterans of a special military operation. In a solemn atmosphere, the participants of the Northern Military District and the relatives of the fighters were presented with letters of gratitude from the acting head of the city.

“We need to work closely with young people. It is necessary to hold as many patriotic events as possible: forums, lessons of courage… all this will certainly benefit the younger generation. I myself regularly take part in such events. I feel great support from people and pride in my country,” said Northern Military District veteran Nikolai Maegov.
