Ciucu denies that he would withdraw from the race for the Capital City Hall in favor of Drula: “I am forced to go out and counter the news “based on sources”

The PNL candidate for the Bucharest City Hall, Ciprian Ciucu, denied the information that appeared in the public space according to which he intended to withdraw from the electoral race in favor of the USR candidate, Cătălin Drula.

“I deny it! Instead of staying to see my campaign and the program for you, the organization and the normal today, I have to go out and counter the news “on sources”, the most perverse form of manipulation today. No, I'm not withdrawing.” wrote Ciucu in a post on Facebook, Saturday, November 1.
The Edilul of Sector 6 classified this information as true “false”, specifying, however, that they do not come from the USR area.
“I am not naming them at this stage, but you will understand. Now I can say who they are not, but I will say, at the right time, who they are. They are NOT USR, so the fake news that I am withdrawing does not come from this laboratory. Their strategy is to throw me into third place in the perception of the electorate, then to pressure me to withdraw in favor of Cătălin. For obvious reasons, it would then be easier for them. Polymarket was in their throat (an objective measurement, difficult to manipulate), so they couldn't quickly come up with polls that would put Cătălin in first place and me in 3rd or maybe 4th place. That's why they made the decision to close him in our country”, explained the candidate for the Capital City Hall.
Ciucu added that the information according to which he would have negotiated with Drula a withdrawal from the race is “made up” and called for an electoral competition based on ideas and debates: “I would like us to keep this campaign on a decent line, to have a competition on visions, realistic solutions and debates between the candidates. I hope we get past the outlaw phase.”
