The Investigative Committee is checking information about animal rights activists insulting the parents of a boy who died from dogs in the Berezovsky district

Employees of one of the media outlets in the Krasnoyarsk Territory published an appeal to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia with a request to take action against animal rights activists who distribute offensive materials against the parents of a 10-year-old boy who died from dog bites.

According to journalists, spiteful critics on social networks accuse the mother and father of letting the boy go alone on the street without supervision, and in one of the chats they allegedly propose to create a combustible mixture and set fire to the village where the affected family lives.

Let us remind you that tragedy occurred early in the morning of October 25 in the Teremok DNT area of ​​the Berezovsky district. The child left his house and went across the field to a familiar shepherd to graze cattle with him. On the way, the boy was attacked by stray dogs and mauled to death. From bites and profuse blood loss he died at the scene.

Law enforcement officers found out that the My Dog organization, which is responsible for catching stray dogs under a municipal contract, has repeatedly received messages with requests to solve the problem with aggressive animals in the populated area and near it. However, no proper measures were taken. The head of the organization was arrested. Woman does not admit guilt, explaining that the duties do not include surveying the territories, but the contract states that the contractor must acquire all the necessary equipment to provide a quality service.

In connection with the death of the child, criminal cases are being investigated against administration employees under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence resulting in death) and in relation to the head of the organization “My Dog” under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).

And after information in the media about insults to the parents of the deceased boy, the regional Investigative Committee began a procedural check on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (dactions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliating human dignity, withcommitted publicly with the threat of violence).

“Based on the arguments of the appeal, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexey Eremin, to initiate a criminal case and submit a report. The execution of the order has been placed under control in the central office,” the department said.
