Poland strengthens sky protection. Massive Russian attacks on Ukraine


Ihor Zinkewycz, a deputy of the Lviv city council, said that key elements of the thermal power plant's infrastructure were seriously damaged. The facility in Dobrotwór, located in the Lviv Oblast, was one of the closest targets of Russian attacks to Poland.
Russian actions were not limited only to Dobrotvor. The shelling also affected power plants in Kałusz, located over 100 km from the Polish border, and in Bursztyn, located approximately 150 km from Poland. Both towns are located in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

Massive Russian attacks
The largest private energy company in Ukraine, DTEK, reported that in October alone its facilities were the target of three massive Russian attacks. According to the company's data, since the beginning of the invasion in February 2022, DTEK's thermal power plants have been shot at more than 210 times. Recent attacks have led to major damage to energy infrastructure.
In the face of the escalation of hostilities, Poland decided to strengthen the protection of its airspace. The Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces announced on the X platform that in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation operations were launched over Polish territory. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency announced the temporary closure of airports in Radom and Lublin to allow uninterrupted operations of military aviation units.
