Arsenal young prodigy Max Dowman added a new record to his tally on Wednesday, but according to manager Mikel Arteta, the 15-year-old is handling the increasing pressure and historic achievements with ease.
The dynamic winger continues to generate huge excitement at the Emirates, proving his talent is well beyond his age.
Dowman once again etched his name into the club's history books during the EFL Cup victory over Brighton.
At just 15 years and 302 days, he became the youngest player to start a match for Arsenal, anchoring a young side that progressed in the competition.

Dowman is already the second-youngest player ever to represent the club and the second-youngest to feature in the Premier League, starting off the bench in August's 5-0 win over Leeds. Both records are held only by his teammate Ethan Nwaneri.
Asked how the teenager reacted to the news that he would start his first senior game, Arteta revealed Dowman's exceptional composure and natural attitude.
“A little smile, that's what you get from him,” Arteta said.
“For him everything is natural, for him everything is fine. That's how he plays and that's the secret, he doesn't make a big deal out of it. He just does what he knows how to do best, which is to play football.”
“Courage and Determination” at Vide
Arteta, who made 10 changes from the side that beat Crystal Palace, detailed the qualities that make Dowman stand out, highlighting not only his mentality but also his technical mastery against seasoned professionals.
“To play football with a lot of courage and determination and today, again, he showed incredible ability, an ability to overcome players at this level in the Premier League at 15. It's definitely something special.”
Dowman, who has been training with the first team since he was 14, confirmed his manager's assessment. He was a constant threat against Brighton, completing the most dribbles of any player on the pitch (five) and drawing the most fouls (four). He also won the most duels (nine), showing a training that belies his age. A notable run left Brighton's Diego Gomez in his wake.
He was one of four teenagers in the starting eleven, including Andre Harriman-Annous, who was also making his starting debut.
“We made 10 changes, we played with players who have never played together before, yet we had two huge debuts for Max and Andre,” added Arteta.
“The feeling of giving someone an opportunity and fulfilling a dream is unique, and I'm very happy that things turned out to be very positive and we managed to win the game.”
Protecting the Prodigy
The focus on Dowman is about to intensify. He has the chance to become the youngest player ever to feature in the Champions League if he makes his debut in the competition before his birthday at the end of the year.
Asked if the youngster believes he is ready for that stage, Arteta was clear but cautious.
“Sure, if you ask him, sure,” the manager said.
“That's something we have to manage and not only that, there's a lot of new things in his life, we talked about that a few days ago. We have to make sure that he's taking the right steps and he has to be able to deal with it because it's happening very, very quickly and we all have to be aware of that. Let's encourage him to continue like this but also protect him.”
It was a night to remember for Arsenal's famous Hale End academy. Harriman-Annous, 17, played a significant part in the second goal, while Myles Lewis-Skelly, 19, combined with fellow graduate Nwaneri for the opener.
“Myles also, Ethan scoring a goal, Bukayo [Saka] scoring a goal – so two graduates of the academy take us to the quarter-finals”, concluded Arteta.
“Again, it was a special emotional evening.”
