FC Dinamo prevailed 3-1 against CS Dinamo, in an unprecedented duel in the Romanian Cup, contested between “the two Dinamos”, at the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium, in the capital.
Although the difference in value was seen in the first half, the students of Florin Bratu (45 years old) came back bravely after the break and were close to a spectacular equalization.
FC Dinamo, victory in the “dogs” duel
The students of Zeljko Kopic (48 years old) started strongly, with Adrian Caragea in the foreground, being the author of a quick “double” (minutes 9 and 18).
In the second half, CS Dinamo took advantage of the relaxation of the opponents and reduced the difference through Cocoș, after a blunder by Mărginean.
Shortly after, the same Cocoș went past 2-2, after a spectacular action on the flank, but Musi closed the scoreboard in the 90th minute, establishing the final score: 3-1 for FC Dinamo.
Florin Bratu would have liked a positive result: “And if I play with my mother, I would still like to win”
After the match, the coach of CS Dinamo, Florin Bratu, spoke frankly about the emotions of a duel “between brothers”:
“It was a mixed feeling, it's the first time I've been through such a situation. It wasn't easy for me. The more experienced team won. With the changes we got back into the game, I think there were moments when I led the game, especially in the second half.
If we were more attentive to the opportunities, we could have equalized. It was a fair result, FC Dinamo had the initiative, we lost many duels in the midfield. I told the players to take this experience as a step forward.”
Asked if he would have been happy with a draw, Bratu was blunt:
“Of course I would have been happy! I was playing a game, obviously I wanted to win. I can't be a hypocrite and say I wouldn't have been happy. Yes, I respect the Dinamo club, yes, I want the clubs to unite, but even if I play with my mother, I want to win! I would have been happy to draw.”
Florin Bratu also spoke about the scorer Cocoș: “A good striker, in whom I believe”
Bratu had words of praise for Cătălin Cocoș, the scorer of CS Dinamo's only goal:
“He's a good striker, I believe in him. I took him from Chindia, I know him since last year, when he was at Alexandria. I took three starters from there. Cocoș scored in the play-off with Dumbrăvița, then we brought him to Dinamo. We have both experienced players and young ones who we hope will help the club.”
“Bratone” didn't forget the defender on loan from Dinamo in the Superliga either:
“I believe a lot in Pașcalău. He's at League 2 level, but I want to participate in his improvement. He's FC Dinamo's player, starting at U21, he has potential and he'll definitely end up playing in the first team.”

In the end, Bratu also sent a message to the Super League club:
“FC Dinamo has experience, history, they can line up two teams with the squad they have. I think they should focus on the Cup, because the fans don't know how much patience they have left. It's been 18-19 years since a championship and 13 since the last Cup. You keep the fans close just by winning trophies.”
