What Nicușor Dan knows seriously and does not want to tell the citizens. “The complete biography of Călin Georgescu”

“I think that only the fact that we didn't give a complete description of his biography makes people still credit this character,” Nicușor Dan said about Călin Georgescu. The President has just informed us that he is hiding something important, something serious, something we have a right to know.
Nicușor Dan gave an interview to journalist Sebastian Zachmann, on the occasion of the relaunch of the “Cotidianul” website. The video interview is one hour long. You can watch it here. The site featured the conversation at length, an interesting one. But it is impossible to give an “accounting” of the whole discussion.
At one point in the transcript of part two, the journalist asks the president:
– Do you see an end to Călin Georgescu's political career?
– Of course, yes.
– Yes?
– I think it's only the fact that we haven't given the full description of his biography that people still credit this character.
I thought it was a “teaser”. That, in another part of the transcript of the interview, the president is to say which publicly undiscovered elements of Călin Georgescu's biography are so obvious that they would disqualify him.
However, the video recording of the interview shows that this is all.
Which “we”?
The President said exactly what the Cotidian transcribed and that's it. It is the last statement of Nicușor Dan in the interview. Then the discussion ends, with the journalist thanking the head of state for participating.
“We didn't give the full biography” and that's why “people still credit this character” is the phrase you expect from anyone, but not from a man who comes from civil society and has really fought for years against the abuses of the state.
What do you mean “We didn't give”? Which “we” haven't given information and don't want to, boy, give it to you? Us, the state? Us, the secret services? These are the only ones who could mysteriously express themselves without going beyond their job description. Services are delegated to keep secrets. Does Nicușor Dan speak on their behalf?
Călin Georgescu and the construction of the system
In the public space, there was a lot of discussion about the possibility that the “politician” Călin Georgescu was the creation of Romanian secret services, at least during the period when the egg was hatched. Georgescu worked abroad before 1989, at a time when very few Romanians had this privilege.
Nothing could be proven. The conspiracy theory continued to feed on the feeling that there were missing links in the chain of the story.
Now, the president of Romania comes and says: We know something about Georgescu, but we're not telling you. I mean you are hiding from us.
What do you know about Georgescu and could it matter? If you say it came from Mars, don't lose a vote. Maybe if you show that Georgescu was “legitimated” in the system team, i.e. exactly in the area he attacks, that might affect him. And George Simion, who can't wait for the opportunity, would take advantage.
That is if you really know anything. That it is also possible to slap, knowing that SIE, SRI or the services of the Army will not accept to remove the possible ID from the drawer, that you never know when you need to be blackmailed. Horrible episode if it wasn't funny.
Five months was enough
It is horrible that it took a little while until the NGO Nicușor Dan was folded into the secrets of the Cotroceni Palace. “It's been five months,” as Dan himself tended to correct the journalist, who had said he'd been president for half a year.
In just five months, Nicușor Dan appreciates as normal that “We know” and “You don't know” something important. Something about people's right to know if people in the state have attacked the state. That's what CSAT told us: Romania was attacked.
And Nicușor Dan believes that we have really reached the stage where we accept that the Cotroceni Palace has the right to know and the citizens not to know something vital. That's funny.
Nicusor Dan, the final blow for the DNA boss. “rather not”
