The first “home bunker” is reported to be on sale.
Reinforced concrete shelter with an area of about 16 m2 will soon be available in the gardening section of an unnamed large chain of hardware stores.
The height of the bunker is 2.8 m, and the thickness of the walls is 20 cm. Inside there are four folding beds, a toilet, a shower, a kitchenette and a large screen that imitates the view from the window, Bild said. Lighting is adjustable in color and brightness.
The 30-ton shelter can be installed either underground or on the surface. The bunker can withstand strikes from drones, mines and even 107 mm missiles (an additional ballistic shell costing €30,000 will be required), its developers reported.
At the same time, when installed underground, the bunker can also protect against the consequences of a nuclear explosion if its epicenter is located no closer than 20 km.
The price of a “home bunker” ranges from €50 thousand for the basic model to €150 thousand – fully equipped.
The production of the shelter takes approximately 70 working days.
