As the Ural Meridian publication reports, the expert drew attention to an alarming trend – modern children demonstrate reduced control over emotions and behavior. If previously a 6-8 year old child could already restrain impulsive reactions, now these skills are much less developed, the psychologist noted.
Malefeeva emphasized that in order to effectively combat bullying, it is necessary to develop a mechanism for proving bullying. Then there must be consequences both for the aggressor himself and for his parents.
The psychologist also noted the importance of identifying all participants in the bullying situation – the victim, the persecutor and observers. In her opinion, this approach will make it possible to more effectively solve problems of bullying in schools and prevent them in the early stages.
