A 41-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk was convicted of 18 thefts of communication cables from basements and technical rooms of apartment buildings, as well as sewer hatches.
As the police said, the criminal had been operating in the Central, Zheleznodorozhny and Oktyabrsky districts of the city since the fall of 2023. At the end of January 2024, at night, operatives caught him red-handed.
The total damage from his illegal actions amounted to more than 580 thousand rubles. The man said that he handed over the stolen goods to collection points for non-ferrous metals, and spent the proceeds on personal needs.
Detention of a Krasnoyarsk resident who stole technical hatches and wiring from residential buildings
According to Parts 1, 2 Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, a Krasnoyarsk resident was sentenced to 4 years in prison freedom with serving the sentence in a maximum security penal colony. He had previously been convicted of property crimes.
