The refinery shut down the 18,900 metric tons per day (MTPD) crude distillation unit CDU-11, or about 138,540 barrels per day, they said.

Another installation, CDU-9, was already closed until Sunday, the agency’s interlocutors added.

Primary oil refining at the Novokuybyshevsk refinery was previously suspended after it was attacked by drones in September.

Reuters sources noted that the plant could resume production in early November.

In 2024, the Novokuibyshevsky Refinery processed 5.74 million tons of crude oil, produced 1.1 million tons of gasoline, 1.64 million tons of diesel fuel and 1.27 million tons of fuel oil.
