Another surface earthquake in an unusual area of Romania. It is the 19th notable earthquake this month

A surface earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 occurred on Monday morning, at 03:35, in Muntenia, Brăila county, according to the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.9 kilometers, near the following cities: 9 km northeast of Braila, 11 km south of Galați, 63 km west of Tulcea, 77 km southeast of Focșani and 96 km east of Buzău.

In October, 19 earthquakes occurred in Romania, with magnitudes between 2 and 4 on the Richter scale, notes Agerpres.
Several shallow earthquakes have occurred recently, including one of magnitude 4 in Satu Mare county last week and one of magnitude 3 in the Făgăraș – Câmpulung seismic zone.

The biggest earthquakes this year, both measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, took place on February 13 in Buzău County, respectively on May 11 in Vrancea County.
Last year, the most important earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 and occurred in Buzau County on September 16.
