Minister Ionuț Moșteanu, visiting the range where MOBEX B-IF-25 is being held. “None of the queues were at the Ministry of Defense”

The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, went to see how the MOBEX B-IF-25 mobilization exercise is being carried out, for reservists residing in Bucharest and Ilfov. The minister specified that, through these exercises, the state of the reserve is checked, and the people are refamiliarized with the new operations and equipment.

Back from Brussels, following a meeting with NATO and EU representatives, Moșteanu announced that the General Staff will conduct an analysis of the exercise and present details, including specific problems observed, MApN reports in a statement.
“It is an exercise in which all state institutions have responsibilities for defense, public order and security: the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, SRI, the National Administration of Penitentiaries. If you have seen differences this week in the implementation of this program, it is because each of these institutions has specific objectives.
MApN chose to do the sorting, training inside the barracks. None of the queues were at the Ministry of Defence. And neither is the tape measure. In the MApN units, the people received all the equipment and the exercises went according to plan,” declared Ionuț Moșteanu.

He also explained that this mobilization exercise happens periodically, so that the Army can see the state of the reserve, and the people can be refamiliarized with the new operations and equipment.
“I will say it bluntly: there is Russian propaganda that pushes certain narratives and wants to denigrate the Romanian Army. Russia wants to create a lot of stress and a lot of panic in Romania and beyond. I was in Brussels, I had many meetings at NATO and EU level, things like this happen in all countries“, stated Ionuț Moșteanu.
Regarding the reservists, the Minister of Defense showed that their average age is 48 years, in a context in which it is all the more important that the Parliament debates and quickly adopts the law on volunteers within the deadline (during peacetime, Romanian citizens between 18 and 35 years old can participate, on a voluntary basis, in a basic military training program lasting up to 4 months).
