Public finances are in a difficult condition, but not yet critical

Such a high deficit and public debt in times of stable economic growth mean that when another black swan lands and a crisis breaks out, Poland will be in serious trouble. The fact that we are in this place is the result of the PiS government speeding up the debt train, but the coalition currently in power also got on this train. Now we need actions that will lead to a reduction of the public finance deficit by approximately PLN 140 billion within a few years – says Sławomir Dudek, president of the Institute of Public Finance, candidate for chairman of the Fiscal Council.
