The Russian online publication Astra notes, citing local residents, that the UAVs allegedly hit an industrial zone in Ufa, where, among other things, the Ufaorgsintez oil refinery is located.
“Local residents write that smoke is visible in the area of the Birsky Tract, a road running through the industrial zone. Problems with mobile Internet are also reported,” journalists write, noting that in Ufa the airport was closed due to a drone attack.
The city is located approximately 1,400 km from Ukraine.
Context
Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has intensified attacks on oil and gas facilities on the territory of the aggressor country, Russia. Agency Reuters On August 25, 2025, it wrote that Ukrainian strikes disrupted 17% of the Russian Federation’s oil refining capacity. This was followed by more blows. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine has no choice but to strike in response to Russian air attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
The Bashneft-UNPZ refinery has already been the target of drones several times. The last time, on October 11, he was hit by long-range drones of the Special Operations Center “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine. Ufa is one of the largest oil refining centers in the Russian Federation and provides the Russian occupiers with fuel and fuels and lubricants, the SBU noted.
