Citing sources, the Axios website reported on Saturday that Zelensky and Trump talked that day about the possibility of transferring Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles to the Ukrainian side.

The President of Ukraine informed Macron about priority needs

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron.

“I informed him (Macron – PAP) about our priority needs, primarily air defense systems and missiles,” Zelensky wrote on He emphasized that Russian attacks have become even more intense.

The leaders were also to discuss the expansion of the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative, under which NATO countries purchase weapons most important for the Ukrainian army, in accordance with the list prepared by Kiev.

The French president stressed that Russia's war with Ukraine must also end, referring to the situation in the Middle East, where a ceasefire has been in force since Friday, part of a broader peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.

“If Russia continues to insist on its warlike attitude and refuses to enter into negotiations, it will have to pay,” the French president said.

Moreover, Macron pointed out that Russian attacks are actually aimed at civilians because they occur just before the beginning of the heating season.

“We are examining with our allies the extent of assistance needed to restore and provide essential services,” Macron wrote.

At the end of the post, the French president assured that France stands by Ukraine like never before and is committed as part of the Coalition of the Willing.
