“That will be our answer.” Ursula von der Leyen on Russia's actions

— Pay attention to what happened in Poland. We had to implement very expensive systems, or rather use the latest generation of fighters, to shoot down relatively cheap, mass-produced drones. This is absolutely not sustainable, von der Leyen said.
— We need an anti-drone system that is inexpensive, allows for quick detection, quick interception and, if necessary, quick neutralization, she added, noting that the EU can learn a lot from Ukraine in this area.
The head of the European Commission emphasized that Ukraine is ready to support the EU's efforts. — The drone wall will contribute to the Eastern Flank Guard program. […] The anti-drone system will be a shield for the entire Union, including, of course, the southern flank. It should be designed to address a wide range of challenges, from responding to natural disasters to fighting transnational organized crime, from monitoring weaponized migration to controlling Russia's shadow fleet. The list is long, she said.

Ursula von der Leyen appeals to European Union countries. “It's the oldest trick”
On Monday, von der Leyen called on EU countries for unity and vigilance against Russia's actions. — Putin blames Europe for his aggression against Ukraine and praises the “cracks in the European structure” and the “shattered unity” of the EU. She does not hide her contempt for our Community or her satisfaction with the actions of her obedient allies in Europe, she said.
— It's the oldest trick in the book: sowing division, spreading disinformation, looking for a scapegoat to turn Europeans against each other, lower our guard and weaken our immunity. This is a trap we cannot fall into, added the head of the European Commission.
