The Bucharest Court of Appeal decided, on Friday, by a definitive decision, the withdrawal of the European mandate for the execution of the prison sentence and the European arrest warrant that had been issued on behalf of Alina Bica, considering that it fully executed the sentence received in the file in which it was sentenced to 4 years in prison. The former head of DIICOT is located in Italy and has not made a prison day, according to news.ro and g4media.ro.

The Bucharest Court of Appeal made this decision after the EU Court of Justice has established that “a judicial authority cannot refuse the execution of a European arrest warrant and to take over the execution of the sentence without the consent of the state that issued this mandate.”
