“I was just arranged my hair. At 14:30 the inaugural lecture was to start, and a moment after 12.00 someone from the year threw a screenshot from a private email. There will not be in black and white: there will be no direction.”
Many students emphasize that this is a huge problem for them – not only the loss of their dream studies, but also financial losses, related to, among others with a rented apartment.
Bitterness
Only the director of the Institute and the Guardian of the Year appeared on the spot. “They apologized, they said that they were sorry. We are sorry. And that's all we have” – say the students.
The university proposed transfer to other directions, such as journalism, international relations or psychology. Uninvited, they can only count on a refund of the recruitment fee.
Not only students, but also lecturers learned about the decisions at the last minute. – I heard everything from students, even though I had classified classes – admitted one of the lecturers.
Another lecturer added that employees were not informed about any problems and is now afraid of their employment.
Unofficial reasons
According to “Wyborcza”, he stands behind the decision Negative opinion of the Polish Accreditation Commission regarding the study program. However, the university may appeal. Older ethics years of study continue their education without any obstacles.
This is not the first time UKen is disappointing students. Two years ago, the direction of “management in social services” was closed in a similar way.
A crisis has been going on at the university for a long time – in July 2025, the Ministry of Science dismissed Rector Piotr Borek for staffing irregularities, although he still performs the function after appealing against the decision.
In the “Perspektywy” ranking, UKen recorded one of the worst results in history.
Ethics students have until the end of the week to decide on the further educational path. Many of them do not hide that Trust in the university has been permanently violated.
