The Israeli army announced on Sunday in a statement that it has hit a weapon deposit of the Islamist Movement Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon, AFP reports.
“This warehouse was used by the terrorist organization to plan and undertake attacks against the state of Israel,” according to the statement, which states that “the presence of these terrorist infrastructures is a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.”
Hezbollah opened a front against Israel at the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, saying that he acts in support of Hamas, his ally. The hostilities climbed into an open war in September 2024, before an armistice entered into force on November 27.
However, Israel continues to hit Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The movement of Hezbollah, which dominates the political life of Lebanon, is undergoing intense pressure to teach his weapons of the Lebanese state, and the Lebanese army has developed a plan to disarm it, starting with the south of the country. The pro-Iranian formation refuses to disarm.
