The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, comes with explanations about the budget rectification and says that the ministries will not be able to receive 80 billion lei as they asked, but “we do so that they have the resources they need.”

  • Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had announced that the budget rectification will be published at the latest on Friday, September 26, but the Minister of Finance announced on Friday that the rectification would be late.

In a video published on Facebook on Saturday, Nazare says that in the last two months the government has had three consecutive confirmations from the rating agencies on the Romanian qualification.

“After these three validations of the rating agencies and before the Council of Finance Ministers, when Romania is evaluated, we must be extremely attentive to how we do budget rectification. We have obtained a deficit target of 8.4%, which is very important, because it provides us with the essential resources to cover the essential needs of today, Health, we are talking about investments, “said Alexandru Nazare.

He said that 150 billion lei will be kept for investments.

“We practically realize the resources we have at the moment with a tax space for the needs of the country. And for this we discussed with each ordinary and below, so that we can ensure resources for these authorizing officers. Of course we cannot provide 80 billion lei as the authorizing officers, but we have to do so.

He also said that he had discussed with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan about the “full picture of rectification” and decided together to be published on Monday-“just when we set out, in the Government meeting next week.”

How the money is divided

The leaders of the coalition discussed on Thursday, before the Government meeting, about the ministries who will receive or will lose money after the budget rectification. According to the current form of the project, the Ministry of Investments and European projects will lose 3 billion lei, according to political sources consulted by HotNews.

In addition, money will receive the Ministry of Labor (2.5 billion lei), transport (2.1 billion), health (250 million), National Health Insurance House (3.5 billion). These amounts are rounded and do not represent the final variant of rectification.

“All that means investments on infrastructure projects and national projects. Plus social things – pensions, salaries, allowances, etc., the total amount that is actually given is 22.8 billion lei, at a deficit target of 8.4%”, say coalition sources for HotNews.

The leaders of the coalition also established that a new budget rectification will be held in November.
