The administration of US President Donald Trump supports the plan according to which the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair would lead the temporary authorities of the Gaza Zone, initially without the participation of representatives of the Palestinian autonomy – British media informed.

According to the plan, Blair would lead the international transitional board over Gaza (Gaza International Transitional Authority – Gita). It would be the authority holding the mandate over the Gaza Strip for at least five years – BBC said.
If the plan were approved, Blair would head the secretary's office of up to 25 people and chaired a seven -person council that would constitute executive power. The council would include at least one Palestinian, as well as a high -ranking UN official.
The solution proposed by the White House is to be based on temporary solutions that led to the independence of Eastern Timor and Kosovo.
Initially, the seat of the temporary power would be the city of Al-Arisz in Egypt. Later, the plan assumes the transfer of git officials to the Gaza Strip with the support of the UN and the unspecified forces of Arab countries.
According to the plan, the Palestinians would not be forced to leave their land. Earlier ideas of the US authorities, called “Gaza Riviera”, provided for resettlements of civilians.
Arab countries have so far declared that they are ready to participate in a possible UN mission in the Gaza Strip, if the path to create a Palestinian state is agreed earlier. Some of them point out that the plan providing Blaira as a temporary manager does not clearly designate the irreversible path to Palestinian statehood.
“The Guardian” notes that the problem may be that Blair is hated by many Paleressers. They believe that the former prime minister hindered their independence efforts. They also critically perceive his participation in the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
The details of the plan were submitted to the public a few days after the UN General Assembly approved another technical plan of administration in the Gaza Strip. According to the declaration from New York, supported by over 140 countries, the temporary authorities would operate for a year and later transfer the rule of the reformed Palestinian autonomy. A new constitution would be developed, and presidential and parliamentary elections would also be held.
The Plan with Blair White House sees as a compromise solution between the first ideas of Trump predicting to take control of the Gaza Strip by the US and Israel and the declaration from New York – says “Guardian”. (PAP)
