“If you have a candle, put it in a chicken coop, and the chickens will carry eggs all year round,” the poultry farmers noted. “We have been doing it for many years and are surprised every time. This is not just a trick. At first glance, the usual candle seems useless for chicken, but when the flame is lit, something special happens.”
According to poultry farmers, the flame of the candle drives off insects, small parasites and mosquitoes, and also soothes birds.
“When the days become short, the light of the candles will extend the daylight hours,” the authors of the video noted. “But remember – a wooden chicken coop, it is full of straw and feathers. Therefore, you need to be careful not to arrange a fire.”
The poultry farmers advised to place the candle in a glass vessel on a metal stand and install in a place where the chickens could not get.
“For those who want to get the same advantages, but without risk, today there are safer alternatives – ice candles or small candles that mimic the flickering flame provide the same effect of heat and light and are absolutely safe,” they advised in the video.
Thanks to the use of candles, the hens will feel safe and will actively carry eggs.
