The Russian MAE announced, through a press release, that it was summoned on Wednesday, September 24, on the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation, Lilian Darie.
“The head of the Moldovan diplomatic mission was expressed a firm protest in relation to the unmotivated refusal of the Moldovan authorities to accredited Russian representatives as short -term observers within the OSCE rest monitoring mission, as well as the members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation as an international observers in the Republic of Moldova” the officials from the Moscow structure said.
MAE Rus representatives claim that this step “It represents a serious violation by Chisinau of its international obligations, especially the Copenhagen Document of the CSCE in 1990 and the 2002 CIS Convention on the standards of democratic elections, the electoral rights and freedoms, to which the Republic of Moldova is a party. The action is incompatible with the democratic values to which the Moldovan leadership declares its attachment and constitutes a new manifestation of the anti -use course. The aforementioned actions of the official authorities in Chisinau seriously undermine the confidence in the legitimacy of future elections and the transparency of the voting process. The question of this scandalous decision of the Moldovan authorities will be raised before the rest leadership, as well as in the meetings of the Board of OSCE ”.
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet formulated a point of view on this situation.
