The teenager scored a pine tree in the entrance and was hiding from the investigation for 20 years

In Sosnovoborsk, a man will appear before the trial for causing a stranger to deadly beatings 20 years ago. This was reported in the regional prosecutor's office.

In June 2005, on the day of the celebration of Youth Day, a company of friends, including a 17-year-old resident of Sosnovoborsk, climbed onto the roof of one of the city houses to see the salute. Going back, the company collided in the entrance with a previously unfamiliar man and a woman who drank alcohol. This picture caused a young man in an inexplicable attack of rage. A verbal skirmish ensued, which instantly grew into aggression.

“Having anger, the teenager attacked a man and began to beat him, striking multiple strokes with his arms and legs on the head. After that, the company simply left, leaving the victim in the entrance. The victim after a short time died in the hospital from the resulting head injuries and internal damage, ”the press service of the supervisory authority said.

For many years, this crime remained unsolved. However, thanks to the planned work coordinated by the prosecutor's office, to disclose crimes of past years, in 2025 the materials of this case were extracted from archives and revised.

The recently accused, who had managed to move to the Kamchatka Territory over the past years, was detained. Under the weight of collected irrefutable evidence, he fully pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor's office approved a man accusation of causing grievous bodily harm that entailed the death of a person (part 4 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal case will be considered by the Sosnovoborsky city court.
