According to the investigation, two defendants are former law enforcement officers.
They supplied the invaders of the SIM-cards of Ukrainian telecom operators, which were then used to manage the Kamikadze drones, say in the SBU. Microchips improve the connection and navigation of Russian drones.
“After the briefing from the Russian special services, the defendants first bought Ukrainian Simoki, and then, for the conspiracy of the package route, they sent them to their accomplices in the European Union. From there, mobile maps were sent to the Russian Federation, namely, to the cities of the Naberezhnye Chelny and Elabuga in Tatarstan, where the plants for the production of combat UAVs are located,” the report said.
Another task of the suspects was to recruit employees of Ukrainian mobile communications for obtaining data from the inside of domestic operators, law enforcement officers say.
The defendants were reported suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed in martial law). They face life imprisonment.
