On Friday, December 19, a first payment had been made for the new stadium. Rareș Hopincă, the mayor of Sector 2 of the Capital, announced that the works will start in January.
And on Wednesday came the long-awaited announcement by the dynamists. On Monday, January 19, 2026, the day after Dinamo – U Cluj, the works for the new arena in Ștefan cel Mare will begin.

“It's official! Dinamo is rebuilding. After years of waiting, hoping and fighting, the dream is coming true. The National Investment Company issued the order to start work on the new Dinamo Stadium – a symbol of rebirth, ambition and the future of Romanian sport.
From January 19, 2026, the construction site will come to life, and every working day will mean a step closer to a modern arena, worthy of performance, supporters and Dinamo's tradition.
The construction will be carried out by a strong association with top expertise: BOG'Art (leader), ACI Cluj SA, Digo & Țigănas Birou de Proiectare and UTI Construction and Facility Management SRL. A project commensurate with history and the dynamic spirit.
The new stadium is not all concrete and steel. It is the promise of return, it is the place where generations will unite, where red and white colors will once again vibrate at their highest level. It is the house where Dinamo will fight, be reborn and dream big again”, CNI transmitted, via social networks.
The new arena in “Ștefan cel Mare” will have 25,059 seats. The total amount expected for the construction of the Dinamo stadium is 478,291,063 lei, approximately 95 million euros.

Details about Dinamo's future stadium
In addition to the stadium, the facility will have complementary spaces for sports (three-ring boxing, weightlifting, judo, wrestling, gymnastics, fitness and fencing rooms), changing rooms and related spaces for staff, for training camps, for spectators, for the press, TV transmissions, storage and other technical spaces related to the maintenance of the building, sanitary facilities and facilities for people with locomotor disabilities.
The arena will have 25,059 seats and the stadium will be dimensioned in accordance with the applicable requirements of the UEFA accreditation regulation for level 4, including meeting the higher requirements of this standard.
The project also provides for the creation of an exhibition space, which will host cultural events, temporary exhibitions, as well as a permanent exhibition where the club's trophies will be displayed, as well as a helipad for the landing of SMURD aircraft, with access to the Floreasca Emergency Clinical Hospital.
The complex will be classified in the 4th category (ex-“Elite”) according to the UEFA classification, with a capacity of approximately 25,000 seats, changing rooms (hosts, guests, referees, ball players, auxiliary staff):
