Emil Gânj's accomplices at the 2011 crime, brought from Germany to Romania. Has to execute a few years in prison

The Romanian police have not yet been able to catch the criminal sought after Emil Gânj, but the investigation initiated for his location led to finding in Germany a former accomplice, involved with him in a murder committed in 2011.
While the Romanian authorities continue the searches to detect Emil Gânj, the dangerous criminal given in international pursuit after, in July 2025, he killed his ex-girlfriend and set on fire, the investigation carried out by the Romanian Police led to an unexpected discovery. The people of the law managed to follow a former accomplice of Gânj, who was caught in Germany and will be extradited on Friday, September 19, to atone for the punishments received in Romania.
The General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) transmitted that Ilie Sălăgean, 34 years old, originally from Mures county, was followed internationally and had two European arrest warrants on his behalf.
“Today, September 19, 2025, the Romanian Police will bring to the country, a 34 -year -old man from Mures, followed at international level, in order to execute the prison sentence. He was followed for committing offenses on the road regime, being sentenced to 2 years and 1,433 days by the Luduș Court, respectively, for the same year, for 1 years days ”, said IGPR in a press release.
The 1,433 days that appear mentioned in both files represent a remaining remaining sentence of an previous conviction.
According to police, in 2011, he was convicted of a crime committed with Emil Gânj, which connects him directly to the criminal now in freedom.
The man was located on August 22, 2025, in Karlsruhe, Germany, following the cooperation between the Romanian Police and the German authorities, at the operation of capturing him by participating BKA – the Federal Judicial Police Office in Germany, through the specialized directions in the pursuit of persons and special operations, as well as the Prosecutor's Office of Wiesbaden.
In Romania, Ilie Sălăgean, the former accomplice of Emil Gânju was sentenced to 2 years in prison and the execution of a rest of another 1,433 days of a previous sentence, after, between September 2 and 27, he was caught three times driving a vehicle in Mureș county, although he had no driver's license.
In addition, on July 17, 2024, the Luduș District Court validated a second European arrest warrant, after Ilie Sălăgean was again sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in prison for two acts to influence the statements. Specifically, on November 14, 2020, he would have threatened two witnesses heard in the file in which at that time he was still investigated for driving without a permit.
After being brought to the country, Ilie Sălăgean is to be incarcerated in a detention unit in Romania to atone for its definitive punishments.
