Allegations Surface About Former Prosecutor’s Shelter in Austria

Recent reports indicate that Oleksandr Galanternik, a figure close to former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Iryna Kravchenko, may have aided in his relocation to Austria. Sources in political and business circles believe Galanternik, who has reportedly been in hiding abroad for several years, could have provided support to Kravchenko, who is currently under investigation for alleged involvement in a criminal group that caused significant losses to the Odesa community.
Investigative authors also revealed that after journalists approached a residence in Vienna believed to be associated with Kravchenko, individuals possibly connected to Galanternik contacted Austrian police. Journalist Mykhailo Tkach stated, “From the investigative materials at our disposal, it can be concluded that testimonies regarding our film crew may have come from staff associated with Galanternik, including a property manager’s assistant and, presumably, Galanternik’s driver.”
One witness informed authorities that they felt they were being followed. Journalists confirmed that they tracked the witness, capturing images of an individual resembling Galanternik being driven to central Vienna. However, the driver did not mention any passenger in his statements.
Context
- Kravchenko submitted his resignation on September 7 amid a scandal linked to a special operation by the NABU and SAP in a case involving the “protection” of fraudulent call centers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree for his dismissal on September 15.
- Prior to this, Kravchenko had signed himself off for a five-day assignment in France, allegedly to attend a PACE meeting, which PACE later denied. He did not return to work after this assignment.
