Amsterdam Airport Cancels Dozens of Flights Amid Storm Boelo

Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, a key European aviation hub, canceled numerous flights on Sunday due to high winds caused by Storm Boelo.

According to reports from France Presse, around 90 flights were scrapped on Sunday, primarily affecting routes to European cities such as Paris, Rome, and Dublin. Additionally, many incoming flights faced cancellation or delays.

The airport stated, “Due to strong winds, fewer flights will take off and land on Sunday, October 25.” However, it did not disclose the exact number of impacted flights and did not immediately respond to requests for further information from AFP.

Severe Storms Also Hit France, Belgium, and Germany

France experienced disruptions from Storms Boelo and Austen, which struck the northwest part of the country late Thursday into Friday. Tragically, a 62-year-old man lost his life, and two others were hospitalized due to the storms.

As of Friday at 8:00 PM, the orange wind alert had been lifted for all affected departments, including the Hauts-de-France region and the coastal area from Côtes-d’Armor to Seine-Maritime, as reported by Météo-France.

The meteorological agency noted that Storm Austen has now moved towards the Benelux countries and Germany.
