Radu Drăgușin Criticized After Fiorentina’s Loss to Como

Italian media have evaluated the performance of Romanian central defender Radu Drăgușin in the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Como, which ended in a 1-3 defeat for Fiorentina.
Fiorentina conceded three goals while playing at home, and Drăgușin was notably outmatched during several plays. In the 56th minute, he allowed Douvikas to enter the penalty area and shoot for Como’s third goal. The goalkeeper, De Gea, was also blamed for allowing the shot to go through his legs.
Italian Media Reactions to Drăgușin’s Performance
The prominent publication TMW rated Drăgușin a mere 5 for his performance at the “Artemio Franchi” stadium, with only De Gea receiving a lower score of 4.
Comments from the Italian press noted, “The defense left him isolated at the moment Douvikas scored. However, he offered no resistance to the Greek player, who sealed the match with the third goal.”
Firenze Viola, a publication closely associated with Fiorentina, expressed even harsher criticism. They stated, “De Gea and Drăgușin are both knocked out, Vieri is suffering, and Njie is wasting too much,” also giving Drăgușin a score of 5. They added, “He is struggling like many teammates, but performs adequately, although the entire defense was caught off guard for Como’s second goal. The same cannot be said when Douvikas shoots and scores the third goal, taking advantage of the space given to him.”
This match marked Drăgușin’s seventh appearance in Serie A this season, with Fiorentina currently sitting poorly in the league rankings at 19th place, just above the bottom, with only 4 points.
