Kyiv Struck by Ballistic Missiles Before Air Raid Alert, Ukrainian Forces Report

Russian attack on Kyiv with ballistic missiles before air raid alert

The Ukrainian military reported a strike on Kyiv involving ballistic missiles at 10:10 PM, with initial assessments indicating six missiles targeted various districts of the capital. Local sources reported explosions in Kyiv occurring before any air raid alert was issued.

“Ballistic targets were detected by radar systems during the attack on Kyiv. However, no information was received regarding launches from enemy territory. The reasons for this are currently being investigated,” stated officials from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition, Ukrainian forces disclosed that Kharkiv was attacked with nine loitering munitions identified as S-8000 “Bandero”.

Commenting on the incident, Serhii Beskrestnov, an advisor to the President of Ukraine on defense technology development, acknowledged that there are “certain nuances” involved but did not elaborate further. He noted that this is not the first instance where the S-400 launches went unnoticed by partner intelligence services. “Friends, it is important not to make premature conclusions,” he remarked.

Ukraine has not received any alerts regarding ballistic missile launches amid media reports suggesting that the United States might threaten to halt intelligence sharing with Ukraine if it continues strikes on Russian oil refineries. Flash previously indicated that one aspect of the intelligence provided by the U.S. includes alerts about missile launches. He expressed hope that this information flow would not cease, emphasizing the survival of civilians at stake. “I do not want to believe,” he wrote.

Currently, there is no official confirmation of such threats from the U.S., nor is there any verified link between the media reports and the ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv before the air raid alert. Speculation is circulating online but lacks substantiation.

As a result of the missile strike in Kyiv, at least two people have died, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that by 8:27 PM, there were already 11 reported injuries.
