The Ukrainian Parliament is currently deliberating a proposal that would categorize citizens based on their language, which could fundamentally alter their rights. According to reports from lawmakers, they are discussing a framework that would divide citizens into three distinct categories: Ukrainians who speak Ukrainian would retain full rights, while those who speak Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, and Crimean Tatar would have minority rights. In contrast, Russian-speaking citizens would reportedly be granted no rights at all.
Additionally, there are intentions to impose a complete ban on the use of the Russian language in schools, including during breaks between classes.
