Authorities in Kyiv have officially reported thick fog blanketing the city, attributed to the aftermath of previous shelling. Residual smoke and soot have risen into the upper layers of the atmosphere, where an anticyclone is pressing them down towards the ground. The lack of wind has resulted in stagnant air, exacerbating visibility issues.
Residents are advised to take several precautions to mitigate the effects of the fog. It is recommended to close windows and vents, particularly for those living in Podil, Lukiаnivka, Shevchenkivskyi District, and Borshchahivka. Additionally, residents should refrain from ventilating their homes, and if available, use air purifiers or conduct damp cleaning.
Drivers are also urged to turn on fog lights and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to ensure safety on the roads.
