Labor costs in Poland. This is how we look compared to Europe

Average hourly labor costs in Poland in '25 increased to EUR 19.1 from EUR 17.3 in '24, Eurostat reported.

Meanwhile, average hourly labor costs across the economy in the EU were estimated at €34.9 and €38.2 in the euro area, compared with €33.5 and €36.8 respectively in 2024.
The lowest hourly labor costs were recorded in Bulgaria (EUR 12.0), Romania (EUR 13.6) and Hungary (EUR 15.2), and the highest in Luxembourg (EUR 56.8), Denmark (EUR 51.7) and the Netherlands (EUR 47.9).
The two main components of labor costs are wages and salaries and non-wage costs (e.g. social security contributions paid by employers). The share of non-wage costs in total labor costs for the entire economy was 24.8%. in the EU and 25.6 percent in the euro zone.
The lowest share of non-wage costs in the EU was recorded in Romania (4.8%), Lithuania (5.5%) and Malta (5.8%), and the highest in France (32.3%), Sweden (31.7%) and Slovakia (28.6%).
In 2025, the average hourly labor costs in the whole economy were estimated to be €34.9 in the EU.⏰
