During a recent meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s staff, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the initiation of additional contracts aimed at enhancing the security of Ukraine’s railway system and border crossings. This decision comes in light of ongoing threats to critical infrastructure amid persistent attacks from the Russian aggressor.
Zelensky emphasized that despite the challenges posed by strikes from Russia, which have caused delays and damage, Ukrainian Railways continues to maintain its logistics operations effectively. “There will be additional contracts for systems that will strengthen the protection of the railway and border crossings, and decisions regarding this are already in place,” he stated.
Furthermore, the President mentioned discussions with Prime Minister Serhiy Korotkykh and Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko about potential support for state logistics from government banks.
Separately, Zelensky addressed the need to enhance defenses against strike drones, noting that last night, 93% of Shahed drones were intercepted. Additionally, Ukrainian developers are testing countermeasures against reactive UAVs.
