The video is not dated and was edited, but the man refers to Israel's Independence Day, which was celebrated last week, and identifies as one of the 59 hosts in Gaza, writes News.ro.
Hamas regularly published such videos, which Israeli officials rejected, considering them propaganda to exert pressure on the government.
According to Haaretz, in April, Hamas published a video with Herkin, this being the first sign of life received after his abduction at the Nova Music Festival, on October 7, 2023.
Herkin, 35, a resident of the city of Carmel in northern Israel, was born in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, and his mother has Russian citizenship. In February, the ambassador of Israel in Russia, Simona Halperin, said that Moscow is in charge of his release.
In mid -April, Hamas declared that it is willing to conclude an exhaustive agreement that will permanently end the war in Gaza, in exchange for the release of all Israeli hostages still in his custody, against the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
According to Khalil al-Hayya, Israel uses these armistics as a “covering politics ” to continue an “War of extermination and starvation”.
“Benjamin Netanyahu and his government use partial agreements as a coverage for their political agenda, which is based on the continuation of the war of extermination and starvation, even if the price is the slaughter of all its hostages.” said Hamas leader from Gaza.
