Nastia Kamenskykh Reflects on Patriotism and Language Choice
Nastia Kamenskykh has openly expressed her thoughts on patriotism, stating, “I no longer play along with patriotism and will not speak of ‘powerful and unbreakable people.'” She elaborated on her choice to speak Russian, explaining, “I was born in Russian-speaking Kyiv, where everyone spoke Russian. It’s the language of my childhood.” Kamenskykh emphasized that Kyiv does not belong to the Russian Federation or any totalitarian regime. Reflecting on her contributions, she mentioned how, at the war’s onset, they raised millions of dollars for Ukraine, yet felt abandoned by their homeland.
